We don't tend to see a Union Flag (Union Jack) from one month to the next unless there is some special occasion. I think that in that respect the USA shows its pride in its country far more. Hopefully there will lots out later in the year for the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

I'm surprised to hear that. All our government buildings fly our flag. And many homes do too. I have just a small one that I fly.

Flags flying in the wind really are a lovely sight. We see them in New Zealand but nowhere near as often as in the US. As SS says we hardly ever see them in the UK although you are more likely to see the Saltire flying in Scotland than the Union Flag in England.
