I couldn't make up my mind what it is. It has some semblance of a hollyhock. I just googled- hollyhock (which I was leaning toward) and hibiscus are from the mallow family. I think you are right because hollyhocks usually have an almost stacked-looking group of flowers. (did this make sense to you, Fun60?)

A very striking colour. It would be lovely to be able to grow such flowers here. But I live with the reality that such flowers are for others.
I am looking at hibiscus - not sure but whatever it's a fabulous colour.
