A Photo a Day: My Daily Sustenance, Day 241

I know these only by Pinks.  I learned by googling that their name is derived from the "pinked" edge, as if pinking shears had been used on them. They are from the dianthus, carnation group.  So far, they continue to come up each year from the seeds of the dead-headed blooms.  What I love best about them is that they make me smile when I peer upon them, giving rise to warm memories of my momma.

they are beautiful and they do remind me of carnations.

Indeed, they can't deny being part of the carnation family! They are very pretty, and I can imagine you looking at them and smile :-)
