Taken for Granted
When I turn the faucet to the on position, I took for granted that water would flow into my kitchen sink. No, just a dribble. So into the bathroom I scurry. No again. So off to the other bathroom. What's going on? I look outside my door. No activity. Perplexed I send my brain off to another room. Oh, call the water company! Of course, the customer service number is an 800 number which means that it's not in Muncie, not even in Indiana. Following into another room of my mind, I go to the phone book and find a local number. She asks me if I'm located on Kilgore. No, I'm not. A few more questions on her part and finally, am I two miles or so from Kilgore? I say yes. She says that they're working on a broken water main. Thankfully, when I get back from errand running, water is at full force again. Thank you, Indiana American Water, I'm grateful to your hard working people for letting me take for granted that wonderful, healthy, easily accessible (most of the time) treasure called water!facebook.com
