Saturday I had an experience par excellent! A friend and a, now new friend, presented a day with God experienced through our minds, bodies and spirits. I not only found new friends, but discovered that I do like yoga. Not that I'm now an expert, but that with practice, I can connect with God a different way. We united that with scripture annnnd...magazine pictures that spoke to us nonverbally. Through the process of gluing them in our blank books, we built our journals to be used whenever, wherever and however we deem essential to our well-being. It was fun because I learned new things about my journaling friends and helped me build new relationships. This was one of my major goals of writing a blog. Hip, hip hooray!
I hadn't been to a retreat of any kind in decades, but I still remember and utilize some of the knowledge I gained from the Brother who presented it. I like the idea of using all the parts of me and connecting them to God. One of the reasons I was drawn to the retreat was because my friend Sandi was one of the presenters. Through Sandi's blog and the journaling writing she shares, she inspires me to reach outside my comfort zone to open myself up to the Divine. Our Yoga instructor , Monique, led us calmly, quietly and slowly through the different moves. She showed us how Yoga is definitely bound to our spiritual beings and well as our bodies.
I am ecstatic to have been there and I'm happy to share. :)
