Thankfully, I remembered to take my camera with me when I recently visited the Kennedy Branch of our MPL system. I asked permission to take photos in the library. Receiving a positive answer, I started shooting. I love this quote; I think it's so true. |

Your sign brings back fond memories.
Thanks for your visit and comment on my sign entry. I must admit, your comment gave me a chuckle. ;-)
Very true! A great sign... glad you shared it. :)
So true! A perfect quote for a library.
That is so true! I love libraries!
Nice sentiment, great library, and I love the half/half composition!
I think it's true too and I am sooo glad I read to my children EVERY night before they went to sleep. Both are avid readers today. :)
Your comment is so so so very true! Instilling a love of reading and books in a child is one of the best things a parent can do.
I remember as kid sitting at my father's lap looking at colorful books. This is a well placed sign at the LIB.
So true!!

first time for me to hear this quote, but i love it. so true.
Being an middle school teacher, I agree with you that this is one of those special quotes which is oh, so true. The tragedy is today at 72 I am seeing fewer and fewer of those children who had that special opportunity to sit on their parents’s laps and have books read to them. I am convinced that many do not even have one book in their homes. Thanks for reminding me of this wonderful quotation. genie
I love that quote too and couldn't agree more!
That is very true. Reading is one of my passions, and I've just started checking out library books on my Nook. It's awesome to be able to get books right at home!
I like it when libraries (and bookstores) have such quotes as reminders.
it's a great quote
looks like a wonderful library
my granddaughter and I play library, she loves her books
I love the quote.. I can still recall holding my Daddy's hand for my very first trip to the public library..
Absolutely true!!! I grew up living in books, and so did my own kids. They never learned to love video games and the like - they would rather read a good book.
Books are the doorway to the world. I started mine & gr's at 4 weeks on my lap. They loved it.
Have a beautiful weekend ~

Can't disagree with that!
I totally agree! Reading to my kids is something I still remember (the youngest is in his late 40s!) -- definitely something I did right!
