Sepia Scenes: Pony Portrait

Back in the 1930s and 1940s, photographers
went door-to-door to take children's
photographs on a pony.  In this one,
is my sweet sister-in-law.

When I grew up in the early 1960s in CT, photographers travelled into the new suburban neighborhoods to take family pictures. But without a horse! I can't tell here if the 'rider' is pensive or excited here...a cute cowgirl!

That's a classic shot! It brings back another time - these days we fire off a hundred photos without thinking about it, and see the results immediately.
