This piece of crewel was sewn by my precious momma. The kit was a gift from my loving husband and me to her. Back in those days, I had three babies (1, 2, 3) and had neither the time nor the knowledge of how to tackle the sewing. So Momma got the kit as a gift. However, we did provide the frame. When she died, I took the piece of art. It's been hanging on some wall in our home ever since. (She died in 1973.) It always seems to fit in somewhere. Maybe it's serendipitous or maybe I always have the same color scheme somewhere in my home. I reckon that it doesn't even matter because it will never leave my home till I die; then I'm sure that my daughter will hang it in a place of honor. |

that's beautiful. The sentiment behind it is extra special. You always have your Mom smiling at you through this lovely piece
It's always special when one has a keepsake from the past which one's children will also treasure.
