They are beautiful. Though they are not like any of the Magnolia trees I've seen in NZ. I must post to show you the difference.
I would say that is a tulip tree.
I think they're a kind of magnolia that in Oregon are called 'tulip trees." (Our daughter has one in her yard!)...even if I'm wrong, your tree is beautiful. Lovely picture. It would give me sustenance for sure!
