A Photo a Day: My Daily Sustenance, Day192

We are still in dire need of rain.  I've never seen White River this low.  I don't understand how anyone can catch fish right now.  Maybe, they're doing it to keep cool.

I suppose this field got mowed simply because it belongs to a business, but I don't plan to mow until after a good soaking rain.  I do have brown spots on my lawn, but not like this.
On a bright note, the temperatures yesterday were 25-30 degrees lower.  Odd when we feel like 85 is mild.

A Photo a Day: My Daily Sustenance, Day 147

Our river looked like this less than two weeks ago (Mother's Day).  Now one can see rock bottom of White River, literally.  I saw ducks standing on rocks yesterday when Son drove me to Lowe's for more plumbing parts.  Finally last night we received some rain, but I know we need at least a full day of rain.  Of course, Hoosiers are hoping for no rain on Race Day at the Indy 500.

A Photo a Day: My Daily Sustenance, Day 67

beautiful and regal
Stopping upon the berm of the road beside the river to view in detail this beauty in the top photo because I'd never laid eyes on one of this coloring. Both geese and ducks waddled their way towards me to investigate me.  I suspect they were hoping that I brought food.  Disappointed, I'm sure...no food had I.
But this gander was grumbling at anyone who crossed his path.  So, I took more than a few pictures of him and those who dared to venture into "his" territory.

A Photo a Day: My Daily Sustenance, Day 53

The road is not just closed; it doesn't exist right now.  Beyond that was the Jackson Street bridge that spanned White River.  Winter prevents further work on the building of the new bridge.  So...we await spring.

Weekend Reflections

linking with James' fun Weekend Reflections
Spotted this vision of beauty while I was driving along our White River Boulevard.
So naturally I stopped and captured it.  I'm so pleased that I've started tucking my camera
into my purse for opportunities such as this!
In addition to this beautiful bird, our city is privileged to have people who had the foresight in planning  and obtaining a greenway for cyclists and walkers.
