Indigo: Project 64: Out of the Box

Indigo in the Kitchen
Finger Painting by Granddaughter

I went back and forth, back and forth.  Now, before I change my mind again,  I'm choosing the soap dispenser.
Although I love the color of indigo, it's definitely been an even harder color to discover.  What first seems to be that color turns out to have either too much on the blue side or too much on the purple side.  One thing Project 64 has done for me is to open my eyes to the innumerable colors we have in our wonderful world.
The argument I had with myself: So, which to choose?  Right now I'm leaning toward the finger painting done by my granddaughter when she was in kindergarten or 1st grade.  I neglected to date it.  Since I am a close friend of the other two primary teachers, I'm dead sure it was done in kindergarten.

Yay! I can see your blog now! I took shots of a lot of different things for indigo too. It was hard to decide what to go with. I lvoe the soap dispenser though.

I am astounded. I'm not an art expert nor even an artist but I find it hard to believe that this finger painting was produced by someone in Kindergarten or 1st Grade. Seriously, it seems a very remarkable piece to me. The combination of colours, the textures and the brighter splash as a focal point all intrigue me.

Your granddaugher clearly has strong artistic talent...I'd be hard pressed to produce anything that beautiful, never mind at kindergarten age ;D

You asked about where my photos were taken. They were taken at a historical village/museum called 'Stundars', located in a little place named Solf in western Finland...I didn't want to post the name on my page since I'd show up in a Google search, and people close to me might 'find' me ;D

Good choice with your granddaughter's art, but you should have told us it was an expensive piece by a famous artist and we would have believed you!

I showed my granddaughter the comments about her finger painting. She let me know that she painted it in our home on the back porch when we lived in the country and had a back porch! That thrills me even more. It's been displayed in my home ever since she did it.
