Project 64: Scarlet

As much as I love red, any shade of red, I discovered that I had little in the range of scarlet.  Again my mind's image did not line up with the actual crayon hue.  So I brought in my daughter's and granddaughter's eyes to help me decide.  One of my favorite scrapbook's cover is the first image below.  I purchased it at Hobby Lobby; they have some of the best buys if you can shop on their 50% discount days.  To me, if you looked in the dictionary for the word "scarlet", this would be the example of the color.   Yet both Alison and Charley thought that my purse would serve equally as scarlet.  I have two images of my purse, shown in two different settings.  (Thanks to photography blogs I follow, I am now taking multiple shots in different settings.)  Since I'm the participant in Project 64, I must make the final decision.  And the winner is (drum roll, please)...

The "Winner"

Thank you for your kind words.

Your winner is exactly what I imagine scarlet to be.

Your photos demonstrate very vividly the effect light and situation can have on anything we photograph. And unless we have fully calibrated computer screens the colours we see can be very different too.

I love hobby lobby, so I think you picked the right photo for scarlet! We are so glad you are playing along at p64! Oh and if you are "tickled Pink" to read my comment, you might be more "tickled Pink" for this week's color! (lol, I've been waiting all week to say that..cheesy I know, haha!)

I wish I had the gumption to scrapbook. I always admire those of my friends.
This is the perfect scarlet! I had the most fun with this color so far...tickle me pink is going to be tough! I keep thinking I've got the color, then I compare it to the crayon on paper, and it's not even close. Sigh.

I agree, the winner is perfect.
I've heard about Hobby Lobby for years, but only recently passed one in Texas. I can't wait to spend an afternoon in one!!!

Scarlet was more elusive than I thought it would be last week. Glad you found a winner! A perfect match.
