Trying Something New: Discovered by Reading Through a Maze of Blogs
I discovered a blog called "The Sunday Whirl" over on Word Press; I found it via another blog to which I subscribe. That blog is "Magical Mystical Teacher" which I happened upon at James' "Weekend Reflections." Upon this last site my memory bogs down and I can go no further.
But thereupon lies my trying a fresh way to indulge myself in writing poetry.
Here are my first attempts for Wordle 70:
The insidious
drip, drip, drip of the spigot
inhibits my sleep.
Her vivid blue eyes
and lovely tinted red lips,
brought me to stillness.
Limbs long and lanky,
did split my attention ‘way
From her gentle smile.
Hark, gentle preludes
of Chopin on the keyboard,
my mind drifts aloft.
Tinny recordings
ignite warm memories of
Momma and young me.

Weekend Reflections
![]() |
linking with James' fun Weekend Reflections Spotted this vision of beauty while I was driving along our White River Boulevard. So naturally I stopped and captured it. I'm so pleased that I've started tucking my camera into my purse for opportunities such as this! In addition to this beautiful bird, our city is privileged to have people who had the foresight in planning and obtaining a greenway for cyclists and walkers.

Weekend Reflections
Here I am again reflecting in a shop window! This is another store at the Muncie Mall. I seldom go to the mall. I seldom shop for clothing or shoes. I do it only if it's absolutely necessary. Hampered with the inability to choose colors outside my comfort zone. Plus, for me to consider shirts and pants, the feel of it on my skin must be soft, not too tight, and not draw attention to my bosom. It does it enough all by itself. I don't have too many restrictions, do I? And shoes...comfort is the prime rule for them. Now, comfy and...colorful, in my size... Oh, and not too pricey! Doesn't this make you want to go shopping with me? Oh, well, I guess that's why I don't even like to go shopping with myself! But I do know ladies who love shoes to the point of needing a closet just for shoes. I even know one or two males who fit the category of "nuts about shoes." I'm sure that one or more pairs of shoes in this display and inthe background is saying to potential customers, "I know you want me to go home with you and live in your closet. I make friends easily. Enter the store, I'm waiting for you..."

Weekend Reflections
Linking up with James at Weekend Reflections Considering both signs and reflections and liking the name of this little shop (Icing) in our mall, I shot this vista. Checking to see how it looked, I then saw that I had another "two fer" with the added reflection in Elder Beerman's window. BTW Icing carries jewelry, scarves and other accessories that add the icing to a lady's appearance.

Signs, Signs
I went to the Muncie Mall today looking for shoes. Instead I bought the cutest purse...ON SALE! This photo could work for Weekend Reflections too. As we say... "a two fer"; only it's not the weekend. That's a time when I definitely wouldn't visit the mall.

Weekend Reflections
For once, I remembered to take my camera when my son and I went grocery shopping today. Look at the garlic loaves and there is my reflection.
